The Kawarau Gorge

The launch of the Kawarau Gorge Trail, in early 2026, is one of the most exciting additions to the NZ cycling network.

nzbiketrails looks forward to hosting riders on this trail from their Queenstown base of the Kinross Winery which is our recommended place to stay for this experience - whether it is a one-day or a multi-day biking experience with nzbiketrails.

You can now book for ride dates from the end of March 2026. If for any reason the trail is delayed from opening we guarantee either a full refund or a ‘ride switch’ to another ride which we will work with you.
